The Myth of UI And A "Well Rounded" Sports Program

Illinois finished 34th in the Directors' Cup, given to the institution with the best all-around sports program. Stanford won it this year, as it won a few NCAA titles this year.

Illinois is 5th in the Big 10! Embrace Mediocrity! Illinois is behind Princeton and Iowa State! BOGGLE!

News-Gazette Grades The UI Sports

the best AD in the country is a massive FAIL.

out of 21 sports, only 9 finished in the first division of the big ten and only 2 of those won a title (men's golf & gymnastics).

not to mention the 5th place finish for men's basketball, 8th place for women's basketball, and 9th place for baseball and football.

More Football Scheduling Suicide By Saint Guenther

Per my guy Phil Steele, Illinois has the 21st toughest schedule in the country! How the heck does Coach Guenther think Illinois is going to get back on track when he's giving away home games every year? Ron, YOU IDIOT!

Detroit+at Fresno State+Missouri series=81-126-2 and 5 bowl games in 19 seasons.

Jacob Charest Transfers=WIDE SPREAD PANIC

Sound the alarms! Jacob Charest, the one quarterback on the roster with game experience at the college level, is transferring. So now, the Illinois quaterbacks have ZERO game experience. Let's hope Nathan Scheelhaase stays healthy!

Will The Missouri Game Be Televised in Chicagoland?

The annual beating by Missouri (THANKS RON GUENTHER!) is September 4 at 11:30 a.m., to be televised by Fox Sports Net. Will Comcast in Chicago pick up the game? If not, the game won't be seen in Chicagoland unless you have Directv. Maybe that's a good thing?
