A Look Back at the 1988 AD Search
When Neale Stoner left, UI needed a new AD. UI hired John Mackovic, who was already the football coach. More interesting is that Ron Guenther was a candidate back then and his petulance and ego were on full display!! "Guenther, who has indicated he would leave the university if he didn't get the job...."
Well, he didn't and he left. Alas, he came back and the results speak for themselves...

LOL at RG having been head of Chicago operations at one time. Also, I wonder if Mackovic would want the AD job at this time.... *chin-scratchy-dealio*
Guenther is gone, but we are still stuck with his hires!! Law, Zook and Weber, although I personally like Weber and think and hope he might be able to turn it around!! he has had more time than you would get in most places
